Wait, Seniors Can Use Connected Health Technology?Reemo

In this episode of the Health IT Marketer Podcast, Jared Johnson speaks with Al Baker, CEO of Reemo, a wearable
technology company committed to improving the quality of life for seniors. Reemo helps the elderly maintain their independence and live comfortably. By wearing a Samsung smart watch, seniors can control the lights, temperature, and locks in their home environment by making simple hand gestures. This watch also allows the user to contact care providers when needed and connect with family members regularly. An example of this Reemo watch technology is pictured to the right.

Virtual 3D App Helps People Make Homes More ‘Dementia-Friendly’

A new virtual app created by Alzheimer’s Australia Vic uses video game technology to improve the lives of Alzheimer’s patients. With this app, users can virtually walk through a home and learn strategies for making a space more livable for individuals with dementia. This tool helps users to learn and apply dementia enabling environment principles. Many of these suggestions are easy to implement, such as placing labels with pictures on cupboard doors.  These improvements can help seniors maintain their independence, feel more confident, and continue living at home.

In the photo below, you can preview the “Dementia-Friendly Home” app.
