Malala Day: What Are You Stronger Than?

By July 15, 2014April 15th, 2019No Comments

Each year, Blog Action Day asks bloggers from all over the world to come together and dedicate one blog post to discussing an important global issue. Whether it be human rights, the environment or world hunger, Blog Action Day provides an opportunity to raise awareness for important topics and generate a global discussion about this issue that could raise money and awareness for the cause.

On July 16, 2014 another moment occurred that also helped to focus attention on an important global issue. Malala Day celebrates the birthday of Malala Yousafzai, who was shot by the Taliban simply for continuing to go to school after they had forbidden it. The simple action of continuing her education put her life in danger and now she takes this life experience and uses it to help other girls and boys who are experiencing persecution because they want to pursue an education. Malala is stronger than fear, and she asks everyone to stand up to educational inequality. Sign her petition to join Malala’s cause and share what you are stronger than.

How Can I Participate in Malala Day?

  1. Write a blog post about Malala and share a picture from the Malala Day collection
  2. Join the conversation on social media by sharing what you are #StrongerThan
  3. Add your name to this statement of support for Malala as she stands against oppression and violence.
