5 Google+ Tips You Can Use Today

By August 19, 2013No Comments

An effective use of Google+ has many benefits for businesses. After properly setting up Google Authorship, it is important to build your profile and maintain a presence on the social media platform. Here are 5 tips you can use to boost your Google+ profile performance:

1.    Post Fresh Content.

Many people may be scared off by the word “content”. However, content creation does not necessarily involve hours of brainstorming, writing, and proof reading. Adding fresh content to Google+ can be as simple as sharing a link to an interesting article or stating your opinion on a current event. Post anything that your followers may find interesting and get a conversation started.

2.    Timing is Everything.

According to Google, the best time to add a post to Google+ is on weekdays between 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Posting new content each week at this time will give you the best exposure among your circles.

3.    Take it Public.

In order for Google to index your Google+ content in the search engine, you must share it to the Public. Google won’t display your privately shared posts in the search results.

4.    Get Visual.

Increase engagement by posting interesting photographs or videos. You can also use Google Hangouts to record a presentation, make an announcement, or give people a look inside your store or office.

5.    Two-Way Communication.

Google+ should be used as a two-way communication platform. Your posts should be used to start a conversation. This means you should actively monitor your profile and respond to any comments in a timely manner.

Google+ will continue to grow in importance for local search marketing. If you haven’t already, start building your personal and business Google+ profiles today.
