Connecticut Eyes Biotechnology Sector Growth

By May 15, 2018April 5th, 2019No Comments

Two significant bills in support of a burgeoning biotech industry have recently passed the CT legislature and were sent to Governor Malloy for signature. Senator Hartley introduced SB 446, AAC a Strategic Plan for the Bioscience Sector in Connecticut in the Senate.

The Senate also took action on bill SB No. 266: An Act Concerning Incentive To Encourage The Growth of Bioscience Venture Capital in Connecticut, as amended by Senate Amendment Schedule A, LCO No. 5298.

The bills cover tax credits and incentives for biotech companies located in CT. In testimony to the CT Senate, BioCT President & CEO Dawn Hocevar stated “I have been working in the bioscience industry for over 35 years in San Francisco, Boston and Connecticut. CT has just as much talent, passion, stellar universities and companies to compete with the top ten biopharma U.S. clusters.”

Clarity Quest is proud to be a member of BioCT and the BioCT Innovation Commons. We look forward to helping biotech companies create their success stories by providing biotech marketing services to the new members of the CT life sciences community.
