Brand New AdWords Feature: Sitelink Descriptions

By July 15, 2013No Comments

The Sitelinks Extension is one of my favorite AdWords features. Google has now made Sitelinks even better with the addition of Sitelink Descriptions.

The original Sitelinks Extension has been around since early 2012. Ads appearing at the top of Google SERPs are eligible to display up to 6 additional links directly under the ad text. These links can be used to direct visitors to specific pages of a website, allowing advertisers to drive traffic deeper into their site.

Here is an example of an ad using the original Sitelinks Extension to advertise for an upcoming conference in San Fransisco:

pay-per-click advertising services

And here is the exact same advertisement using new Sitelink Descriptions:

healthcare technology marketing

Notice a difference? Sitelink Descriptions allow advertisers to describe what a visitor is going to find by clicking on the sitelink. This is a great way to generate interest, entice visitors to click, and also takes up a larger amount of real estate on the SERP.

Curious how your business can benefit from increased exposure using pay-per-click advertising services? Our healthcare marketing agency is a Google AdWords Certified Partner. Contact Clarity Quest online today or call 877-887-7611 to request a quote.
