HIMSS18 Product Review: Meet Pillo, The Home Health Robot

By March 14, 2018April 11th, 2019No Comments

pillo home health robotWhat happens when a voice-enabled speaker meets healthcare? Meet Pillo, the home health robot! I was excited to learn about this device in October 2017 and even more thrilled to have a chance to demo it at HIMSS 2018 in Las Vegas.

Pillo has many of the features of an Amazon Echo or Google Home — it can play music, answer basic questions, call out reminders, make phone calls, and more. One fantastic difference is that it can dispense prescription or over-the-counter pills.

There are dozens of uses for this e-companion ranging from the elderly who can’t manage their medications to young children who need help remembering their daily vitamins to naturopathic consumers who take lots of supplements.

Pillo is intuitive to use and has a large screen. The product design and brand styling are modern and approachable. The voice recognition understood me over the roar of the HIMSS show floor, which was truly impressive.

The device is set to launch in Q4 2018. Pricing is not yet available. Watch the Pillo Health website for updates.
