If you are looking for another outlet to expand your social media marketing reach, Pinterest has some great news for you. One of the fastest growing social media sites has recently created Business Accounts to allow corporations, small businesses and other professionals to represent their business identity on the popular social sharing platform.

Many businesses may already have a Pinterest account under an employee’s name. If you have set up an account like this and have already established followers and amassed pins, you’re work will not be lost. After verifying your business, Pinterest allows you to include a backlink in your profile, which is prominently displayed next to your business name and profile picture and is a great SEO backlink from a social site. Changing your profile picture to your company’s logo is great for building brand recognition.

Pinterest has proven to be an excellent promotional tool for B2C and e-commerce companies, but can be utilized for B2B companies as well. Because Pinterest is an image-based platform, B2B companies can use compelling photography or insightful infographics to attract interest. Adding a detailed description and including a link with the image or infographic will entice Pinterest users to visit your website or inquire for more information.

As with any other social media channel, be sure not to be spammy. You will have much better results in the long run if you build a loyal following by creating compelling, useful content that people will want to click on and learn more about.
