Recent Google Changes Could Decrease Organic Traffic

By April 24, 2013No Comments

If you’ve noticed a slight decline in traffic coming to your website from organic search, Google’s recent design changes could be the cause. The new design includes an expanded feature area at the top of Google’s search result pages. This feature area is stealing the attention of searchers – and their clicks – from organic search results.

Depending on the search query, the feature section can include product listing ads, maps, photos, and statistics.

The degree to which your website experiences a decrease in organic traffic depends largely upon your industry.

This article includes more information on the changes and provides further statistics and examples.
