By January 26, 2015No Comments

The beginning of each new year brings a flood of predictions and expectations for the search engine optimization changes to come in the year ahead. Instead of throwing our predictions in the ring, we’re talking about 3 things that will have an impact on search marketing as we begin 2015.

  1. Google Discontinued the Local Carousel – Google has a new, interactive block of local listings for certain search terms (see the search for “hotels in Mystic, CT” above as an example)
  2. Top Local Ranking Factors – Moz’s 2014 survey of industry experts is highly regarded in the search marketing industry.
  3. 73% of US Consumers Prefer to Search for Local Information on their Phone – Research from ComScore gives us more insight on consumers’ local search behaviors.

Check out Chris Slocumb’s recent post on the Stonington-Mystic, CT Patch for more details and tips for dominating the local search results!
