When Naming, Don’t Forget About Expired Domains

By February 17, 2014No Comments

A few years ago we were really struggling with naming a new company and its associated product launch.

We came up with a product name the client liked immediately, but finding a company name and available .com domain was proving much more elusive. In frustration, I turned to looking at expired domains.  Sites such as Name.com offer an expired domain search option that allows you to enter in a string of keywords and find domains that have recently expired.  After a few searches, I found the perfect name and associated URL and within 2 hours the client had approved it.  Mission accomplished.
