3 Ways to Increase Your Business Online

By June 21, 2011No Comments
1. Get New Blood. Get new customers. Obvious? Yes, but adding new customers is key to increasing sales. A targeted and well-thought out search engine (SEO) strategy is a vital tool for gaining new clients. Pay-per-click advertising can be reasonable and effective for garnering new customers. And don’t forget referral programs. Asking your current clients for referrals is a great source of new business. Unfortunately, most businesses focus all their energy on new customers and don’t tap one of their biggest assets: existing clients.

2. Pick Up the Pace. Increase how many times customers order from you. Does your typical customer order twice a year? Work on ways to make it 3. One more sale per customer over your entire customer base spells large dividends. How? Stay in touch! The Internet is ripe with avenues to keep in touch with your customers. The more you stay in contact, the more they will feel a connection with you. The more you learn their needs, the more they will understand how you are uniquely qualified to fill those needs.  Social Media Marketing using tools such as Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn are great ways to keep in touch on a more personal level. Communicate your expertise and your unique value via blogs and e-mail marketing campaigns.

3. Turn Up the Volume. Increase your average sale. A small increase in your average sale spread out over your customer base will make a big difference in your bottom line. That doesn’t mean raising prices or pushing meaningless add-ons however. It does mean truly understanding your client’s needs and offering solutions. Utilizing online surveys, request for information (RFI) forms, and “old-fashioned” personal emails are great ways to get your customers talking. Your job? Pay attention! If your customer’s needs are forefront in your mind, you will find solutions they will eagerly buy into.

The “Aha!” Moment! Combine all 3 above in a structured marketing plan and watch your sales take off! Create plans for garnering new customers, increasing the frequency of your orders and for increasing your average order. Stick to the plan. You will be surprised at the results. Many companies have found that an outsourced marketing department has allowed them to take advantage of these principles in fantastic ways. Get started today!
