Which wire service is best for business press release distribution?
Like many things in healthcare marketing, it depends on many factors. This post includes our review of the top B2B PR wire services and the best use for each.
Note: All pricing in this post reflects our experiences with each service. Pricing depends on options such as geographic distribution, multimedia, and other add-ons.
Also, buying a package is the most cost-effective option if you plan to send out more than a few press releases in the next year.
Business Wire is the Clarity Quest preferred press release wire service vendor for essential B2B company news. Their quality and distribution network is top-notch. We have successfully used Business Wire for domestic and extensive international distribution. Their account reps are friendly, knowledgeable, and responsive.
We used GlobeNewswire extensively when press releases were still a big player in search engine optimization. However, with the introduction of no follow links, we have not used them recently. GlobeNewswire is well known for its global reach into 130+ countries and is best suited for those companies seeking an international audience.
While we don’t have much experience with Newswire, their standard rate includes more graphics than any of the services we reviewed. Their analytics tools appear to go beyond the basic press release stats to track engagement and performance across channels, and they have positive customer reviews and high ratings on G2 and Capterra.
When we first started offering public relations services in the early 2000s, PR Newswire was THE wire service and the only one we used. It was the oldest, largest, and most expensive vendor on the market. After they merged with Cision in 2016, they became a PR powerhouse. However, they are extremely pricey and it’s easy to get locked into contracts that go unused.
PRWeb is an online PR distribution service known for being user and budget-friendly. Their distribution network includes journalists and bloggers. Unlike most other vendors, PRWeb has no word limit and does not charge extra for word counts over 400. They also offer an unlimited number of images and multimedia assets.
However, PRWeb is not a true wire distribution service; it’s an online release distribution offering. Therefore, it best suits small companies with a limited budget.
