You Can’t Afford to Ignore Desktop Search & SEO

Many in the online marketing industry declared the death of search engine optimization last year.  Google started withholding search data, mobile applications were on the rise and social media was going to take over the marketing world.  Well I’m hear to say, SEO and desktop search are alive and kicking. And some very smart industry executives agree with me.  AJ Kohn of Blind Five Year Old, a leading Bay Area search marketing firm, published the following data showing that desktop searches have been on a steady substantial increase, even over the past year.

The vast majority of our agency’s leads and our clients’ leads still come from online desktop searches on Google.  Does that mean we ignore social media, mobile sites or sponsored search?  No way, but we certainly haven’t taken our eye off the desktop search results either.
